Sewage discharge into a water course

End Sewage Pollution

Test Our River for Sewage

Nearly 600 million litres of sewage may have been dumped into the River Medway last year, with Medway getting the 2nd highest number of sewage overflows for the whole of the south east. This will not only have a massive environmental impact to our precious river and wetland wildlife, but will also do financial damage to the leisure businesses that use the river. This pollution is due to years of under-investment by the water companies so they can pay their managers massive bonuses, and the Conservative government allowing them to get away with it. The Medway Liberal Democrats demand that Medway Council should regularly test the water in the river so that it can warn residents about any dangerous levels of sewage or potential diseases.
