Save Free Child Swimming

We, the undersigned, demand that Medway Council halts its plans to end free child swimming in council pools. Up until now, anyone under the age of 16 can swim for free when with an adult. However, the council plans to end this because of the poor state of its finances. With Medway having the highest childhood obesity and childhood poverty in Kent, we believe the ending of free swimming is incredibly short-sighted and will only cause obesity rates to increase. We ask them to find the savings in other places and to protect our children's health.
